Ask about forms on WordPress and two names come up first: WPForms, running on more than five million sites, and Gravity Forms, one of the oldest premium plugins around. Both are well made. For a nonprofit or a small business, the real question is which package holds the features you need: conditional logic, multi-step forms, file uploads and payments. This post compares Flux Forms with both on the same questions and is just as clear about where they are the better pick.
The short answer
- WPForms Lite is free and easy. According to its plugin page, conditional logic is in Pro.
- Gravity Forms has no free version. Its Stripe and PayPal add-ons start with the Pro plan.
- Flux Forms includes conditional logic, multi-step forms, file uploads, Stripe payments and automations without a separate licence. It does no licence checks and sends no data out.
- Choose a competitor if you need hundreds of ready integrations (CRM, email marketing, Zapier) or a large support team and community.
Comparison table
| WPForms / Gravity Forms | Flux Forms | |
|---|---|---|
| Free version | WPForms Lite. Gravity Forms has no free version or trial. | Yes, with nothing locked. |
| Conditional logic | Pro in WPForms. Included with a Gravity Forms licence. | Included. Rules are enforced on the server too. |
| Payments | Stripe in WPForms Lite. Stripe and PayPal from the Gravity Forms Pro plan. | Built-in Stripe with server-side amount checks. WooCommerce checkout with Flux Donate (iyzico, bank transfer, monthly). |
| Look | Own form styles, adjustable to the theme. | Uses the theme’s colours, fonts and dark mode automatically. |
| Reports | Entry lists. Detailed reports in paid add-ons. | Views, conversion rate, payments and a day-and-hour heat map, compared with the previous period. |
| Automation | Zapier and hundreds of integrations (paid plans). | After a submission or payment: e-mail, webhook, create and send a certificate. |
| Local details | WPForms is translated into Turkish. Turkish provinces and consent fields are not built in. | Country, province and district lists, KVKK consent field, English and Turkish interface. |
| Ecosystem | Very large: docs, add-ons, support teams. | Small: written to work with the other FluxWP plugins. |
The real difference: which feature is in which package?
Free form plugins are usually enough for a simple contact form. Once the form becomes a donation form, an application or a survey, you need two things: questions that change with the answers (conditional logic) and a form split into steps. In WPForms conditional logic is in Pro. In Gravity Forms even the lowest plan is paid, and the payment add-ons start with Pro.
That is why we wrote Flux Forms with everything unlocked. More than 50 fields, conditional logic, multi-step forms, file and drag-and-drop uploads, signatures, ratings, a map location picker and audio or screen recording all work out of the box. The plugin does no licence checks, downloads no remote add-ons and sends no usage data.
Payments and donations
WPForms Lite can take payments with Stripe; Gravity Forms has Stripe and PayPal on paid plans. For an organization registered in Turkey both are a problem, because Stripe does not open accounts for Turkish businesses. Flux Forms has built-in Stripe for sites elsewhere. In Turkey, together with Flux Donate, the form’s “Pay” step moves the amount into the WooCommerce checkout, so cards go through iyzico, bank transfers come with a receipt and monthly giving works.
A form that looks like the site
Ready-made form styles rarely match the theme exactly and usually need some CSS. Flux Forms takes the theme’s colours, fonts and dark mode automatically. The form you see in the builder is the form visitors see.
When a competitor is the better choice
- You need ready integrations. CRM, email marketing and Zapier connections are far wider in WPForms and Gravity Forms. Flux Forms has webhooks and a short list of built-in integrations.
- You run many client sites as an agency. Gravity Forms’ developer API and third-party add-on ecosystem are years deep.
- A simple contact form is all you need. WPForms Lite does that in minutes.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use Flux Forms without other FluxWP plugins?
Yes, it works on its own. If Flux Donate, Flux Certificates or Flux Mail are installed, it uses their features too (WooCommerce checkout, certificates, shared e-mail design).
Can I export entries?
Yes. Entries and dashboard data download as CSV.
Do the forms work in Elementor?
Yes. Besides the shortcode there are Elementor and WPBakery widgets.
Bottom line
WPForms and Gravity Forms are still strong choices for sites with wide integration needs. If what you need is conditional logic, multi-step forms and payments without paying for another licence, Flux Forms puts them in one plugin.
